West Midlands Walking Trail

The West Midlands Combined Authority is in the early stages of working on plans for a new walking trail that celebrates areas of beauty and heritage in the region as well as increasing access to green space for residents.

Over the longer term, we also plan to establish 'urban loops' within the constituent local authorities of the West Midlands - Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton - giving people even more direct access to their local heritage, waterways and green spaces. We also plan to identify and promote trail sections that are accessible to a wide range of users.

Whatever your level of walking experience we want to gather the views of local residents to help shape the plans for the trail.

Please have your say using the community survey below. We are also hosting online community workshops to help us gather people’s thoughts about the proposed West Midlands Walking Trail.

  • Thursday 30th March, 6-7.30pm
  • Tuesday 4th April, 6-7.30pm
  • (This is the same session repeated)
