West Midlands Walking Trail
The West Midlands Combined Authority is in the early stages of working on plans for a new walking trail that celebrates areas of beauty and heritage in the region as well as increasing access to green space for residents.
Over the longer term, we also plan to establish 'urban loops' within the constituent local authorities of the West Midlands - Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton - giving people even more direct access to their local heritage, waterways and green spaces. We also plan to identify and promote trail sections that are accessible to a wide range of users.
Whatever your level of walking experience we want to gather the views of local residents to help shape the plans for the trail.

West Midlands to receive a further £13 million for Cycling and Walking
The West Midlands has received exciting cycling and walking related news over the past few weeks.
The Starley Network of safe cycle routes across the West Midlands will benefit from a £13 million Government active travel grant announced on 16th November.
The second round of Active Travel Fund money, handed to Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and its partner councils, will go towards the delivery of the 500 mile network announced during the summer.

Re-opening our transport network
The West Midlands transport network is open and ready to get you where you need to go. Bus operators are running all services again with every bus back out on the road. Train and tram are planning to be back to normal by September. Your safety is our number one priority and we have been working with operators continuously throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to make sure that measures are in place to get you where you need to go in a safe way.
Your views and opinions are very important to us and we are seeking your help again. This survey covers a variety of topics which we will use to support our planning as travel restrictions are eased, facilities; like schools and colleges re-open and activities re-start. The survey will take around 10-15 minutes to complete. All entries will be eligible for entry into a prize draw with the chance to win one of 3 prizes of £50 in Amazon Vouchers . The closing date for entries is 9am on Friday 18 September 2020.
